“And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.”  Luke 9:62 (KJV)

Traveling by airplane changed drastically after 9/11.  The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) was established, flights became more expensive, and the airlines started charging baggage fees.  Once I was traveling and planned to be away for a longer period of time than normal.  So, I decided to have most of my items sent ahead of me.  That proved to be a lot less expensive than paying for an extra-large bag or paying for an extra bag.  My items arrived safely to their destination, no one went through my belongings, and it was more convenient to travel without those things.

Life is much like the air traveling experience these days.  There’s always someone looking, people are extra cautious, and many carry baggage from their past experiences that impacts their ability to move forward in life successfully.  God’s Word tells us that we can’t move forward in the Kingdom of God (God’s way of doing things) when we’re constantly looking back even though we’re actively trying.  We, as Christians, are to send our past hurts, pains, disappointments, and issues ahead to God.

When we truly connect to God, learning more about HIM, we allow HIM to use our past strictly for the benefit of learning; then we can remain focused on what’s ahead in God.  This will cost less time, use less energy, and require less resources.  We can travel through life lighter and more effectively.  Avoid the baggage fees by sending the baggage to Jesus, HE’s the best bag handler!

Application For The Day:

Think of something you’ve always thought about doing but haven’t, then ask yourself “Why?”.  Seize your thought life, make plans to do that thing you’ve thought about but haven’t because of an issue in your past.  Release the baggage and look ahead!

Prayer For The Day:

Father God, I am a Kingdom Citizen and I receive all the promises of You!  I thank you that I am a new creature and able to do all things through Christ Jesus who has set me free.  I receive the power given to me in the Name of Jesus, the love that’s unlimited, and the peace that passes all understanding.  I declare that I am a Faith Walker and not bound by my past any longer, in Jesus’ Name!

We cannot look forward to our future and our past. We have to give you past to God and look for the future.

The past is part, I want a new future in God so I I choose to let go of the past and live as God intended me to.
